Scrutiny Topic Suggestion Survey

Scrutiny is a forum to consider cases where you have a concern that a council service or policy is:

• Unfair to or discriminating against several residents in your community
• Not delivering the intended outcome(s)
• Causing unforeseen, negative impacts that the council might not be aware of

Topic suggestions from the public are shared with the members of the relevant scrutiny body for their consideration.

If you wish to refer a matter to Scrutiny please provide as much information as you can in Sections 2 as well as your contact details in Section 1 and preferences in Section 3.

A Scrutiny Committee will be more likely to consider your proposal if you can:

• Show that the issue affects a significant number of people in the area
• Explain how the issue affects these people
• Provide or point to any evidence supporting your concern

Please note that topics cannot be considered if they relate to:

• An individual service complaint
• A planning or licencing issue
• Something that Scrutiny has examined within the last 12 months
• An issue that was dealt with by another council committee (except where there is an issue relating to process)

We will acknowledge your topic suggestion and contact you if your suggestion will be taken up by a Scrutiny Committee.
