Crisis Payments are part of the Council’s Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) which is funded by the UK Government.
They provide short term, emergency financial support for residents facing an unexpected or exceptional situation that has caused an immediate financial crisis. Crisis Payments are intended for situations where urgent help is needed, and essential living needs cannot be met without support.
Before considering a financial payment, we will always look at other support that may be available through the council or partner organisations. This might include advice, referrals, or practical help intended to prevent the situation from getting worse.
A Crisis Payment will only be considered where other support options are not enough to resolve the immediate crisis.
Our aim is not just to respond to the crisis, but to help households move towards greater stability and financial resilience wherever possible.
