Any agreed funds will be paid to the lead gardener and must be solely used for the garden specified in the application. Agreement The aim of this agreement is to clarify roles, responsibilities, and standards for the establishment and upkeep of community gardens. Please read carefully. The London Borough of Redbridge will: Review this arrangement every 12 months. Carry out monitoring of the community garden to ensure standards are being adhered to and participants are supported. Provide knowledge-based support to participants if needed, and where possible. The lead resident/adoptive group will: Ensure that the use of the site does not cause a nuisance to local residents or businesses. Be responsible for safe storage of any tools. Not erect any permanent structures on the site. Maintain the site in good condition. Ensure that plant growth does not overhang onto the public highway. Not claim any proprietary rights whatsoever in respect of the looked after areas. Agree to use the site only when there is sufficient lighting. Allow unhindered access to the site to any Council Officers or any authorised individuals, in discharge of their duties. Inform the Council of any incident or accident at site as soon as practicable and complete an accident/incident report in each case. Provide the Council with a list of names of all volunteers when requested. Do you agree to adhere to the responsibilities and standards as listed? The Council will not be liable for injury caused by any act of negligence, where participants have not adhered to health and safety guidelines. The lead resident shall not be paid for any of their services in cultivating the site on the basis that the provision of any such services is entirely voluntary. Either party can end this agreement by giving notice in writing to the other party. The lead gardener must ensure that any other residents participating in the project are aware, understand and adhere to the health & safety guidelines.
