Register to vote

You can register to vote online. You will need to provide your date of birth and National Insurance number if you have one.
The deadline for registering to vote for an election is 12 working days before polling day.
Register a postal vote

You must apply for a postal vote if you want to vote by post, for example if you’re away from home or you’re abroad.

To apply for postal vote please visit www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote

If you are registered to vote, and want to vote by post in elections, your application form must arrive by 5pm at your local Electoral Registration Office, 11 working days before polling day.
Register a proxy vote

Voting by proxy means someone you trust voting on your behalf.

To apply for proxy vote please visit www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote

If you are registered to vote and want to vote by proxy in elections, you must submit a proxy vote application form that is received by 5pm at your local Electoral Registration Office, 6 working days before polling day.
